GIZELLE ABRAHAMS

GIZELLE ABRAHAMS, a right-hand bat and leg spinner was born 14/09/2004 at Languedoc in Stellenbosch.

She matriculated at Kylemore High School and represented Boland at junior and senior level before joining the Garden Route Badgers at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

IZEL CILLIERS

IZEL CILLIERS was born in Frankfort in the Free State on 12/05/1997. She matriculated at Wilgerivier High School in Frankfort and received her tertiary education at the University of the Free State.

She made her provincial debut in the 2010/11 season for Free State and also represented the North West Dragons.

As a prolific right-handed batter runs scorer she joined the Knights in Bloemfontein at the beginning of the 2023/24 season. After their relegation she signed a contract with the Garden Route Badgers for the 2024/25 season.

ANNERIE DERCKSEN

ANNERIE DERCKSEN was born in Beaufort West in the Western Cape on 26/04/2001. She is a right-hand batter and right-arm medium fast bowler.

After representing SWD at youth level she made her debut for the Oudtshoorn based team in 2018/19.

In January 2023, she was named in the South African squad for the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.She was named in the South African squad for the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup in India and Sri-Lanks and their multi format home series against England in 2024.

MIEKE DE RIDDER

MIEKE DE RIDDER, a right-hand batter and wicket keeper was born in Cradock in the Eastern Cape on 10/01/1996. She attended school at DF Malherbe High School in Gqeberha. She studied Architectural Technology at the Nelson Mandela University and made her debut for Eastern Province in 2020/11.

She moved to the SWD in the 2023/24 season and got a taste at international level when she was included in the Proteas squad as a back-up wicket keeper.

She made her international debut in September 2023 in a T20 international against Pakistan and was a member for various Protea squad between 2023 and 2024.

KIARA FISHER

KIARA FISHER, right-hand bat and orthodox spinner was born in Durban on 01/03/2002. She matriculated at Durban Girls High School and ETA College. After representing KwaZula Natal Coastal at junior level she made her debut for the Dolphins in the 2017/18 season.

At the beginning of the 2024/25 she moved to Oudtshoorn to join the Garden Route Badgers.

NICOLIEN JANSE VAN RENSBURG

NICOLIEN JANSE VAN RENSBURG was born in Makhado (formerly Louis Trichardt) on 22/01/2002 and was educated at Secunda High School whereafter she further her studies at the University and Pretoria and ETA College.

As an outstanding all-rounder she represented Northerns at junior level before making her debut for Mpumalanga in the 206/17 season. She later represented the Titans before she moved to the Garden Route Badgers at the beginning of the 2024/24 season.

JULIA HOAL

JULIA HOAL was born in Cape Town on 01/01/2001 and she matriculated at Fairmont High School.

As a top order right-hand batter, she made her provincial debut for Western Province in the 2020/21 season. She also had a stint with Boland before the moved to the Garden Route Badgers at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

ZINTLE KULA

ZINTLE KULA was born at Mthatha in the Eastern Cape on 23/05/1992. She was educated at Elmar College.

She is another outstanding all-rounder who can bat in the top order and opens the bowling. She made her debut for Easterns in the 2011/12 season and later went on the represent the Knights. After relegation from the top tier, she joined the Garden Route Badgers in the 2024/25 season where she was also awarded with the captaincy.

PALESA MAPHOO

PALESA MAPHOO was born in Soweto in Johannesburg on 17/04/2000.

After matriculated at Seana Marena High School in Soweto she studied at the University of Johannesburg and Business College.

As a top order right-hand wicket keeper/batter she made her debut for the Lions in 2017/18. She joined the Garden Route Badgers in the 2024/25 season.

KHAYKAZE MATHE

KHAYKAZE MATHE was born in Gqeberha on 22/05/1999 and matriculated at Imingcangathelo High in Alice in the Eastern Cape. As a right-arm openings bowler and hand right-hand batsmen she was drafted into the Border provincial team in the 2015/26 season.

With the transition of professional women’s cricket in South Africa she joined the Garden Route Badgers at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

NADINE MOODLEY

NADINE MOODLEY was born in Durban on 09/04/1990. She matriculated at Arena Park Secondary School and received tertiary education at the University of KwaZulu Natal and the University of Cape Town.

As a right-handed batter and wicket keeper she made her provincial debut for KwaZula Natal Coastal in 2005/06. Between 2010 and 2012 she represented Western Province for two seasons before returning to the Dolphins.

She appeared in one test match, nine One-Day internationals and nine T20 internationals for South Africa between 2013 and 2015.

At the beginning of the 2023/24 season she joined the Garden Route Badgers.

YOLANDI POTGIETER

YOLANDI POTGIETER was born in Cape Town on 16/05/1989. She matriculated at Belville High School and studied at the University of Stellenbosch.

She plays as an all-rounder batting right-handed and bowling right-arm medium. She made her provincial debut for Boland in the 2006/07 season and also played in a tour match for Western Province.

In 2013 and 2014, she appeared in 16 One-Day internationals and seven T20 internationals for South Africa.

With the transition of professional women’s cricket in South Africa she joined the Knights in Bloemfontein at the beginning of the 2023/24 season where she also captained the team. After their relegation she signed a contract with the Garden Route Badgers for the 2024/25 season.

ANICA SWART

ANICA SWART was born in Potchefstroom on 02/19/2005 and was educated at Potchefstroom Gymnasium. She is a right-handed batter and very capable fielder who made her provincial debut for the North West Dragons in the 2021/22 season.

With the transition of professional women’s cricket in South Africa she joined the Knights in Bloemfontein at the beginning of the 2023/24 season but after their relegation she signed a contract with the Garden Route Badgers for the 2024/25 season.

LUCIAN SWARTZ

LUCIAN SWARTZ, a right-arm opening bowler was born on 23/08/20024. In Upington in the Northern Cape where she matriculated at Carlton van Heerden High School. She made her provincial debut for the Northern Cape in the 2021/22 season.

With the transition of professional women’s cricket in South Africa she joined the Knights in Bloemfontein at the beginning of the 2023/24 season but after their relegation she signed a contract with the Garden Route Badgers for the 2024/25 season.

EVODIA YEKHILE

EVODIA YEKHILE is a right-arm orthodox spin bowler who was born at Klerksdorp in the North West province on 23/07/1997. She was educated at Borakanelo High School in Stilfontein and the North West University. She made her provincial debut for the North West in the 2012/13 season.
