WOODEN SPOON FOR GARDEN ROUTE BADGERS IN T20 SERIES

In the most disappointing season of the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers since the inception of the revised domestic structure in South African cricket the Oudtshoorn based team has finished bottom of the log in the Cricket South Africa T20 series following a 36 runs defeat against Limpopo Impala in Polokwane on Wednesday.
Limpopo Impala, who won the toss, were restricted to 136/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Ruan Haasbroek (27 from 34 balls) and Siswe Masondo (34 from 30 balls) – with a 5th wicket partnership of 42 added value to the batting innings of the home side. The left arm seamers, Jarred Jardine (4/29 in 4 overs) and Khwezi Gumede (2/29 in 4 overs) both produced good bowling performances.
Jarred Jardine vs Limpopo Impala
The Badgers produced yet another disappointing batting performance and was dismissed for a modest 100 (all out) after 18.1 overs. Kyle Jacobs with the only batter that showed confidence and scored 40 (from 36 balls). For Limpopo Impala Calvin King (2/14 in 4 overs), Eldred Hawken (2/14 in 3.1 overs), Don Radebe (3/23 in 4 overs) and Atwell Mokgoloboto (2/13 in 2 overs).
Limpopo Impala, who finished top of the log (23 points) will take on the Eastern Cape Iianyathi (4th on 12 points) in the first semi-final while the Knights (who finished 2nd on 20 points) will host their neighbours – the Northern Cape Heat (who finished 3rd on 15 points) in the second semi-final.
