HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Cricket in the South Western Districts was managed and administered by two bodies in the pre - apartheid era.

The South Cape Cricket Union was responsible for cricket in the white community while the South Western Districts Cricket Board managed cricket in the black community.

The amalgamation of these two entities in 1991 unified the organisation of cricket in the region.
